Yes, google does get catalogue the DMOZ directory its true.. However I
don't remember many long standing seed companies changing they're URL
every couple of months?? It'd be bad for business!-)

I am volunteer editor of the parent /gardens category.

Most of the established ones stay put. But when it comes to the smaller
providers, you do get new ones popping up, and older sites vanishing quite
regularly. Only today I removed one that had died from the parent
'plants' category, for example, and last month I realised that Thompson and
Morgan weren't listed in /seeds (oops!)- they still aren't in the Google
listing.

In February, Chiltern seeds changed its shop technology so their link no
longer worked. It was noticed and fixed at Dmoz, but Google took a lot
longer.

Google's database was almost a year old earlier this year (it's a bit
better now), and the broken links were starting to be quite embarrassing,
so I have been pointing people at the Dmoz list for preference.
