Hi, Susan,

If the temperature is less than 80 degrees and I suspect crown rot or
other rot problems, I will often apply Captan as both a preventative
measure and and an inhibitor. If daytime temps are over the 80 degree
mark, then wait until evening to dust.

PS, how long can one spike flower? I amazed… the spike just gets
longer and longer with more expanding buds and flowers. It's been
months! The only thing is the new flowers are not a deep of a purple
as the first ones, do I need more light? Hmmm... I love orchids.
