Maybe you should emigrate. :-) It's not like that in most parts of the US. In

Indiana, where I live, state law permits the use of deadly force, by any
citizen, to prevent a break-in at "a residence". Not necessarily one's own.


Yes, I think I'd rather live in a country that doesn't place more value on
simple possessions than it does in human life. I can't help but think when a
value is on property is put as being higher than human life then it's only a
short step to putting values on people and deciding that some are 'worth' more
than others.
