Default Any Hints On Clump Division?

I'VE TWO CLUMPS OF BAMBOO, NOW ABOUT 6'x 6', AND 10' HIGH. THEY WERE
SOLD TO ME AS ARUNDINARIA NITIDA, WHICH I GUESS THIS IS SYNONYMOUS WITH
FARGESIA NITIDA.
I'D LIKE TO DIVIDE THEM, LIFTING AND TRANSPLANTING 'HALF' OF EACH TO A
SLIGHTLY WINDIER, SUNNIER SITE IN MY GARDEN IN NORTH WALES WHICH FACES
WEST AND IS 700' UP.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHETHER TRANSPLANTING SUCH BIG PLANTS IS FEASIBLE, AND
IF SO,WHAT ARE THE PITFALLS TO AVOID?

I split my Aurea last year with no real problems.
I think the best thing is to get a sharp blade to do the splitting and
then getting them back into the ground quite quickly with plenty of feed
and water.

Mine sulked for a while (lost leaves, looked bedraggled) but came back
better than ever.

cheers
