Penstemon cuttings

Hello All,
Can someone give me some advice on taking Penstemon cuttings? I've read
somewhere that I can take shoot cuttings (about 3" long) at this time of
year - is this true, and if so, what do I do with them over the winter?
(keep them inside/outside/cold frame?)
Thanks for any help,
Nick
Yes you can take cuttings now
cut just below a leaf joint ....remove all but the top 2 leaves ......dip in
rooting compound .......and put into pots of mix of compost and sand
.........put the pots onto a layer of wet paper in a seed tray and cover with
prophagating lid keep in a warmish dark place for about 3 weeks ensuring
they do not dry out and have slight ventilation and you should have rooted
cuttings which can be kept in a frost free greenhouse overwinter or on a
windowsill
