This stuff has been going on for years. Currency exchange rates,
drought, wars, safety inspections, and probably a bunch of other things
influence U.S. farm profits. As you probably know, GM crops have come under
a lot of scrutiny from the EU.
I've read of concerns regarding the United Nations and environmental
regulations. The concern is the U.S. would cede too much authority to
outsiders regarding U.S. land use, for example.
