Default What's eating my melons?

Sounds like all of the rats mentioned are guilty. I have had good results
with sliced apples and peaches. They just love peaches. If they are
reluctant to go for the fruit, smear some peanut butter on the bait. Almost
any aromatic fruit should work. Try a few slices of your own melon. My rats
just eat enough of a fruit to render it useless then move on to the next.

In my area we have the usual suspects:squirrels, possums, rabbits and
an occasional racoon, although I have not seen one in several years.
My newly ripe melons have been bitten into. Are any or all of the
above the culprits. If so what is a good bait for a Havaheart trap.
Thanks, Richard
