If a lawyer and an IRS agent were both drowning, and you could
only save one of them, would you go to lunch or read the paper?

Darn, jammer... I can only say I hope it was one of the "good" cries - you
know what I mean. I'm not a religious person, but I'm sure there is a cat
heaven, and I'm sure your kitty looks down at you with only good memories.
The word "accident" needs to be taken literally... it was an accident, i.e.
something you could not prevent. Try to not feel too guilty...

As we all said to Cybe ... get another one if/when you feel up to it. No,
you can't "replace", but you can partly "transfer" your admiration for these
strange critters. They are all quite unique.

To answer lots of things in one post (anti-spam me)... they do indeed
"connect" to us more than fish. That's not to say fish are not worth
mourning about... they are, but it's not the same. Don't ask me why
though. It's like losing people close to you isn't the same as losing
pets. OTOH, both my wife & me have one fish we would really mourn about...
Betty, an Ochiba (Sigure for you nerdy lot ;-) ) Don't ask me why, I've seen
Sophie's Choice, but he (yup, we got the gender slightly wrong) is so
"tuned" to us, it's amazing. (which also makes it a selfish thing BTW... ).
That said, the way cats can play us (if you are a cat person that is-) is
quite overwhelming.

Anyway.

Sure, we did try to "rationalize" and have a few human candidates ready to
house the kittens, but as you know with people, some (most ?) will opt out
at the last minute (tax raise, kharma or biorhythm not right, favorite
football team just lost ;-) )

If we can't find a nice home for them (which was the reason in the first
place why we wanted "true" Coons, easier that way), we just keep the lot.
It's not like they cost half of what it costs to feed a Koi is it ??? (think
about it !)

Lee, we (well I) do want the kittens. I'm not "policital" in my views at
all, but this is what she wanted no ? Not my right to decide on it all.
So, if all goes according to plan, we'll have 4-5 "trash" ;-) kittens in a
few weeks. The "morning after" pill is pretty dangerous to cats as well
BTW - at least that's what my vet told me. But even so, I think we will let
nature run its course.*

Nope, no guilt, and why should she ! She followed her instincts, so I'm the
last person on earth to go "tut tut". I'm off to our local version of
"home depot" to get me some wood, to build her a nest.

Theo

* you will not believe this, but we actually bought another Coon on the day
she dissapeared. A male, in the hope she would like him and would want to
have a nest with him...
http://w1.243.telia.com/~u24311489/d...otos/Cream.jpg She would get
used to him & all that "human" crap... I thought that was rather funny LOL

PS: we get our cats from this lady: http://www.dorsai.be/ and if you are in
a hurry, please look at
http://w1.243.telia.com/~u24311489/dorsai/thecats.html ... amazing.

PPS: the fish are doing great BTW :-)
