says. That's the -only- difference between it and a wild variety.

"Variety" has no special botanical meaning that would exclude
cultivars. In fact, "variety" isn't even in the CODB.

If you can cite a source to back up your assertion, do it. Otherwise,
you have made an empty distinction.
