Default What to do with newly born Koi? -winter risks...

Outdoors, the small fish are likely to be quite harshly thinned out by
small predators, fish over an inch in size are likely to be fast and
strong enough to be able to steer clear of hazards like that, Size
doesnt really matter, most fish are able to cope with Winter, survival
has more to do with predator risks and water quality really

Picking out the best of the bunch and bringing them indoors gets the
promising ones past the small, vulnurable stage quite reliably

So what size do the fish have to be to weather the winter in the pond
(3ft deep in the middle) - hardy zone 7?
