Our neighbor has several of those in their front garden area- they've
been in full color for several months and are no more that 4-5' tall.
I'd never seen/noticed them before, they're beautiful. The each
'blossom' seems to go from yellow at the top to orange to red- someone
else called it a Firebush(?)

If so, I think they should be fine in Killeen. They come back from the
roots in the spring.
