APA Snakehead fish caught in Maryland
The discovery of the 2-foot-long giant snakehead by the state Department
of Natural Resources marks the first time the species, a native of Asia,
has been found in Wisconsin waters, where officials said it may not
survive the winter cold.
"This was a real wake-up call," said Mike Staggs, director of fisheries
at the DNR

Yep, DNR properly killed off the snakeheads in Maryland, and nobody
complained. DNR now wants to cull the population of mute swans, which are
not also native, and eat bay grasses. However, because swans are pretty,
the plan was protested, and has now been shelved.

Heck, I'm about as pro-environment as one can be, but destructive exotic
species should be eliminated if at all possible. The only exceptions -
species that fill a niche formerly occupied by an extinct native (as long
as said species does no harm to the ecosystem.)
