There are many usenet server's that have limited storage space, and
thus choose not to carry the binary newsgroups because the volume of
their content can exceed that of text newsgroups by a factor of 10.
Since usenet's inception binaries have been relegated to the binary
newsgroups exclusively. Many (competently administered) news servers
filter-out inappropriate binary posts to text only newsgroups.
