Perhaps as part of "the modern drive ... to bureacracy in DPI" ?

I'll see what I can find out, though I would guess at two
likely possibilities:

I am really not all that interested in why, just thought I would report it.

1. They're sold out and there's no "project finance" to do a re-run.

This seems unlikely since there was quite a list available shortly before
they stopped

2. World Heritage listing of the NQ rainforests has meant a dramatic
decline in availability of pretty well all cabinet woods and a
consequent dramatic rise in prices. The only stocks of most of these
species now come from the relatively small areas of rainforest on
freehold land. Given that they're effectively no longer available to
commerce, there's not much point in providing samples.

That would be possible, but there is also the possibility that making and
packing samples was just too labor intensive, that storage took up too much
space or that it just looked silly.

Your first and second points here would come under my (1). The third
would probably attract a budget, but the managers wouldn't look at it
that way. ;-)

Cheers, Phred.
