I like maps too, and the ones which are marked "Now here be dragons" are
even more interesting than the ones we get nowadays ;-).

I just wish that someone had a more exact rendition of the one

Hmmm ... I am pretty sure you are in 10-something. I am not even sure
that it is 10b, might even be 10a, no?

Rose weekend in SoCal at the Huntington. Perhaps another time ...


By all means! I'd welcome it. Hearing Mel talk about the San Jose
Heritage Rose Garden has made me much more inclined to make a special
visit to see it.

Oh! It would be lovely if you can see the Heritage in its Spring Glory
in the Spring in Guadelupe Park festival, usually at the end of April.
Many of the Tea roses will be in bloom then, and even most of the
Bourbons and some of the OGRs. The peak for ALL the OGRs here is usually
the third week in May (interesting - that is the peak for lilacs in
Madison, Wisconsin), and there is usually a Celebration of Old Roses
(aka COR) during that time in the East Bay. However, due to certain
family events, I am never able to attend COR, as there is no way to
alter the date of the family events. Should you be able to come on up
here for the Spring in Guadelupe Park festival at the end of April, I
would be every pleased to meet with you face to face.

It was nice to see so many folks from rgr and on the mail list in
person; it's helpful to put faces to names.

Heheheh. These folks actually exist, huh ;-).

I was also surprised that I could keep up with so many conversations
(well, mostly evesdropping). Immersing oneself in rose chatter really
pays off after about a year. :-)

Oh, it pays off immediately in elevating one to a higher plane of
existence, surely g?

It's also a comfort to know that there are other folks even more
obsessive about roses than I am....

It is always good to know that if one is mad, there is a large group of
other nuts with whom one can hang out.
