You don't say where you live. There would be
different treatments for different locations. The
safest bet would be to put the whole thing into a
larger pot, with out disturbing roots, in a well
draining soil. Then put akadama or pumice on top to
promote root growth without creating rot.
Here in California winters are very wet and trees
don't get as dormant over the winter, but we still
take it easy at this season.
