We're watching a pair of pheasants on the front lawn. The cock is

grain

Or, is this unseasonable behaviour?

I don't remember it before. But I've been out of the UK for a while.
The pheasants round here (N Yorks) are pretty frisky now too.

There were lots of squashed ones on the road, when we were in N Yorks
3 weeks ago. Does anybody make a living out of collecting and selling
road kill game birds?
