I am loooking for a source of rhubarb plants or rhizomes in the UK. In
France (where they are going to end up, if I can find some) all I can
find is "rhubarb" but I know it is possible to find different varieties
with different characteristics.
Ideally I would find a specialist nursery with a web site and lots of
information to help me choose maybe 4-6 different sorts to try.
Any advice - either on sources of plants, sorces of information, or
types to look for / grow will be gratefullly received!
Thanks

RHS Wisley and I think, Harlow Carr hold the national collections for
rhubarb (Rheum species).
Try contacting them directly or the ususal sources, eg Ken Muir, ART,
etc.. there is a URG list of supplier on the web (probably under 'fruit)

Thank you all for your help. I have contacted Ken Muir and he has two
named varieties, Buckinham had two others, and Edwin Tucker had three.

Unfortunately I think I might get addicted to Ken Muir's nursery.
It's very conveniently located for me and I already have a list of
about a dozen items - this search for rhubarb is going to cost me a
fortune! grin

The rhubarbinfo site was interesting too but it focused (as far as I
could see) on the US market. Great for information tho'

Have to say that NAt Collections may be your best bet if you are looking
for the widest range.. Information found via http://www.nccpg.com/

The actual holders should be able to supply you with good, detailed
information on the cultivars as well.

Let me know when y've grown up a few cultivars in a year or so and I
might fancy some divisions;-)
