Depends. I took a cutting from a vigorous Buddleja Lochinch about 18
months ago and put it in a dry, partly sunny location. It's now about 2'
wide by 1' high which is a lot less than I expected.

If you feel experimental, consider:

- A regular pruning program
- Tying into a wall or fence
