Jersey Royals were always King Edwards, which I believe were banned by The
Common Market(or what ever it is called this year).
I have a feeling that Jersey were given an exemption at least for a time.

Ahem. Speaking as a Jersey born person, no they're not! They're a
something Kidney originally. The Jersey Royal is a fluke. Properly grown
and nourished with seaweed, they're unbeatable. Grown on tired soil
nourished with nitrates, they're as interesting as any other potato.
