Default Bamboo fire protection

Does anybody know a way to treat bamboo to impel on it a fireproof?
Also I would like to know about any document or research about this topic.

Maybe a chemical, etc...

Up to my knowledge I know that the boron can help.

Thanks a lot.

Diego Andrés

Hello Diego,

I just recently read a post on bambu-brasil in regards to that. When
we planted bamboo in a permaculture setting in Santa Catarina, Brazil
-- our intention was for the bamboo to be a ZONE 3 barrier to fire.

Personally, I think that it would be difficult to make any combustible
material completely fireproof, but I am not a specialist on this
topic!

Wood burns, so does bamboo, but much slower, I think. Atleast, that is
from my personal experience.

In Northern Brazil, certain ceramic industries are considering using
Bambusa Vulgaris as raw material for their ovens...
