Default bud blast?

Only one more healthy looking bud remains :-(

Thank you Ray. One or two of the buds are still very small, so I hope at
least one will make it. I will try hard to provide the right conditions to
the best of my knowledge and abilities. I will post a picture of the bloom
on abpo if it does make it, and a lament on rgo if all buds blast after

all.

Any plant can experience bud blast.

I think that the "abort" reaction is instantaneous once a plant feels it

has
been abused, so little can be done to stop its continuance.

However, if the buds are not very developed when the larger one abort,

they
may develop properly if given the right conditions.

Help!

Does anyone know if cochleanthes are prone to bud blast if shipped in

bud,
just like Phals? And if so, is there anything one can do to stop the
process, once it has started? Also, if I have had the plant for 4 days

only,
how likely is the bud blast I am observing due to problems in my

environment
/ culture, and what would be some things to check for and adjust?
