Default Den. atroviolacea

I keep my dendrobium atroviolaceum in basic cattleya conditions.
good drainage, a lot of light and regular water and fertilizer. I've found
that it likes to dry up just a bit between watering and doesn't need any
rest. Mine is still young but a great grower. I got 8 new pseudobulbs this
year and two have just started to grow.
I do let it cool down a bit in winter. Basicly I give it intermediate temps
but during the winter months it doesn't seem to mind night temps of 10°C.
Just make sure the leaves are dry or they will rot.
I've found that this plant prefers to be repot just before new root growth
starts. Also i think it's sensitive to the quality of pottingmix and water.
The roots don't seem to be as strong as cattleya roots.
Hoop this helps
Cheers
Peter

Anybody growing this species. I got a plant a few years ago from the

Little
Greenhouse. It was doing great, flowered several times. I repotted back in
September of this year and the plant has gone down hill. Now the leaves

are all
dried out and the psudobulbs has shrunk. I removed the plant from the pot

and
most of the roots are dead. Only one live new root.

Any ideas.
