Default Buddliea in containers

Nick Williamson wrote:

Hi all,

I have three Buddliea that I must move - I had hoped they'd fill a gap
in a certain part of the garden, but they didn't get enough sunlight
or moisture there and they really didn't perform at all.

I'm struggling to find space for them anywhere else, and I wondered
whether it's feasible to grow them in big pots. I've never seen it
done. Has anyone here tried it with some success?

TIA
Nick

Nick,

which Buddliea are they? Most of the daviddii types will survive in
comparitivly harsh, dry conditions once established.. I would assume
that globosa and x weyeranii; (which have similar vigour), might as
well.

We must have thousands of them growing in walls around London, not to
mention all the ones in rail embankments, walls, etc etc..

We have a small one growing in a crack in our front wall..
