Morning all
In a VERY sheltered area right next to the house, I have a
summer-flowering
clematis still covered in buds.
Of course it's not labelled. : (
Large-flowered, the white buds have very definite green stripes up the
centre of the petals - most easily visible on the underside. As the
flower
opens, the green colour fades a bit and the flower is almost completely
white on the upper surface of the petals. Then as it matures it becomes a
very pale pink.
People who lived here before were not great plant lovers so I would think
it's probably a "garden centre special", most likely sold as a "climbing
plants pair" with the honeysuckle (labelled, naturally!) growing next to
it.
Any ideas?
Heather
Try looking at pictures of 'Dawn' but there are a lot of contenders and of
course these late flowers whilst very welcome are generally not typical for
colour.
The best site for id' ing clematis is

good luck
