Are you going to change the name of
Blighia becuse Admiral Bligh was a convicted sadist?
That's an inaccurate example based on the fictional movie versions of
Mutiny on the Bounty. Historians have found that Bligh used less
physical punishment than other ship captains of his era. Bligh was
never convicted of sadism.
Caroline Alexander's recent book and several others make it clear that
Bligh was a hero, not the villain, in the Bounty mutiny. If not for
Bligh's sailing skills, he and the loyal crew set adrift by Fletcher
Christian would have perished. Christian sent Bligh and the others to
what he thought was a certain death. He and the other mutineers were
the villains.
