Surely, but I'd modify your statement to say "artists" and/or "already
skilled individuals" should be working to create trees that are not the
norm. Beginners and those who are still feeling their way through and/or
still working to internalize the basics should be working to copy the basics
provided by excellent examples.

Of course, those who are not really trying to become artists should be
working to create whatever they darn well please. ;-)
