How much room do you have around the tree Stuart? It`s possible to cut
the roots back bit by bit if you have room and some time.

There really isn't any space on one side of the tree, its right up against
the wall, so there's a bit of urgency in getting it out. Whoever planted it
didn't give it much thought!
