Scissor blades can be forced apart and then they won't cut well. Also,
they wear, with the same result.

Anvil type have a much thinner blade and cut through the wood better
(IMO), but if you're used to twisting your secateurs about to cut
through thick stuff, you can bend or more likely, break the blade.
