Mosquito dunks is really what they were talking about putting in the
pond, and the first ones I bought said they were BT, but the ones I have
now say bacillus thuringiensis israeliensis. I'm not sure if that is
what it was all the time or if we now have an improved bacteria.

Bacillus thuringiensis was also used to spray corn crops and for a while
upset the butterfly folks because it was killing butterflies that
ventured near the corn fields as well as the corn ear worm.
I suppose someone got the word it was a really bad thing, like the virus
that eats the characters off your keyboard and believed it. (That was a
Joke.)

It doesn't harm fish or birds! (That wasn't a joke.)
