This sounds as though your dogs spend all of their time outside in the yard
and are bored. A bored dog doesn't have anything better to do than to
destroy his surroundings. The solution to this is to keep your dogs
indoors, and take them to obedience training, and give them structured
vigorous exercise. Don't place them in the yard unsupervised either. When
they are in the yard, you are either with them playing with them or with
them supervising their "going". If you exercise your dog vigorously before
you leave for work each day and then kennel them indoors until your return
and then have additional supervised play time, then they will not be bored
and your lawn will be in better shape. You'll NEVER have a perfect green
carpet again though, but you CAN have some "lawn". Daily pooperscooping
also goes with this as well.
