A curiosity.

I posted two photos to rec.binaries.gardens a bit ago. They are of
some sort of eggs I found in my greenhouse. The filaments intrigued
me. Anyone have any ideas what the parent insect is? The individual
fibers are finer than single cotton fibers; more nearly silken or
rayon.

Any thoughts?
