Default Roots budding

HI Last year I asked how many chances we have to grow a maple from its
roots cuttings..
I had 3 cuttings last year in spring that were were thick 5 mm about
I put them into soil in a wooden box with the cut part 1 cm about
outside ..
the soil was a whatever mix I take form changing pots so it is
akadama sand some soil some lava quite draining.. I left the roots
inside in a northern part of the balcony
Nothing happened ..in november I needed the wooden box , so as they
did not react during alla tehese months I took them out and amazingly
one of them has grown a wide spread root system..
so I put it quickly bach inside the soil and limited the zone around
of it to know exactly where it is as on the remaning part I needed to
put some maple seeds..
yesterday I was looking at some maples seeds that germinated in the
same box ,and noticed in the little root stump a red eye .. probably
it is budding..it is to early to claim victory.. but I just wanted to share
I will keep eveyrbody informed if further progress
