Anyone cutting their grass yet? It's been so damn cold this last week that
it's nice and firm today for a change (ie. virtually frozen!) instead of
mushy with water. Tempting to cut it, but not sure if it's too early - it
is a brand new lawn laid last August.

Ours was cut on Thursday once the sun had dried overnight damp from it.

But was yours laid only last August, Sacha?

When you say laid, Al, do you mean from turf or from seed?

A *mature* lawn can be mowed at any time of year providing it is not
waterlogged or frosted but until it starts growing strongly in the
spring it is wise to keep the cut 'long'!!
