Default when to fertilize in ontario

SaM said:

when should i fertilize in ontario canada? And how many applications are
recomended?

Late May, early September, mid-late October (winterizer -- lower nitrogen, higher
potassium). Use slow-release fertilizers or organic fertilizers.

Add a mid-June (especially on sandy soil).

The fall fertilizations are the most important. Avoid early spring fertilizing. It can
encourage fungal diseases. Avoid 'weed and feed' formulations. The best times
to 'weed' and the best times to 'feed' don't neccessarily coincide.

when do i apply crab grass preventor? last week of april/ first week of
may?

When the forsythia bloom. The soil temperature at a two-inch depth should be
around 50 deg. This is mid-April in Michigan and may be the same for you or slightly
later (depends on where in Ontario you are located).

Your first mowing should be lower than you usually mow. And don't forget to
sharpen your mower blade!
