Milky spore is considered an organic control

Being organic doesn't have anything to do with being safe. Yes Milky
spore is safe and is organic. However, anthrax and rat feces are
natural organic materials and neither is safe. They occur naturally in
grain when it is improperly stored. Synthetic table salt and water are
not organic and are safe. Synthetic salt and water are more pure than
natural salt and water. Organic and safe are not equivalent. Synthetic
and unsafe are not equivalent. There is no correlation.

Thanks for pointing that out. I would also like to point out that being a
groundhog doesn't have anything to do with being made of dirt or of bacon.

Similarly, "organic control" has a specific meaning unless you are a
literalist, have an agenda, or just plain don't get the vernacular
of 'organic gardeners' (who are also usually made of natural organic
materials, but not always safe, especially when angry and armed with a
shovel ... the shovel not necessarily being 100% organic, but we'll let it
slide).
