This is the same stuff they grow to juice in health food stores - absolutely
nasty, vile stuff. I used to occasionally spend $1.50 for a 2 ounce cup of
it in NYC, as it was reputed to be the cure for all ills afflicting mankind.
Of course, then for 2 hours I'd be burping up something that could only be
compared to the smell of the clippings one scrapes off of the lawn mower
blades. It sends my entire body into a spasmodic shudder just to think about
it.........
Anyway, I think they used to use a scissors to neatly clip off the top inch
or so to juice it. But unless you were likely to have just the right kind of
platform on your lawn where you reach every blade with a scissors, I don't
see how else you could achieve the same effect.
Incidentally, I live in an area famous over the entire world - regularly
showing up on any kind of calendars which show rural scenes - for its
rolling hills of winter wheat (the Palouse region of eastern Washington).
Just at this time of year, the fresh beautiful green of the wheat is
beginning to emerge, and from the air it looks like the most beautiful soft
green lawn imaginable. But as others have mentioned, not made for walking.

Anyhoo, this concoction started growing in roughly 3 to 4 days, and within

week was "lawn height", actually almost needing a mow if the grass were

over my yard and not in a little plastic tray.

My question, is wheat grass a viable lawn grass? From what I've seen, I'd
love to just spread some over my entire yard and let it grow in. This
stuff
is soft and has a fabulous look to it.
