Default After the Photinias...

The previous owners of my home had 28 photinias planted in front of a
privacy fence which had grown to six feet or more. 10 of them have died due
to the fungus that photinias are susceptible to. I'm not looking forward to
ripping out the dead plants but it must be done.

Question: Will this fungus damage other plants such as Texas Sage? Can
vegetables be planted there safely?
