Despite living on the coast in west Cornwall, we've not had it too bad
as far as gales are concerned this winter. Certainly nothing like
we've had in the past, and no real hum-dingers that make the whole
house vibrate. I have the feeling that either the met office are
exaggerating their forecasts a bit (possibly for legal reasons, to
allow for the strength of the wind being a bit more than they
estimated, so that they don't get sued when people suffer storm
damage), or the gales are moving north a little, moving up the Bristol
Channel and the Irish Sea and hitting south Wales rather than
Cornwall, as a result of global warming.
