Default Conifers

Chris S22/3/04 3:21

Hi,

Can you recommend the names of some conifers to produce shielding in a back
garden.
Want them between 5 to 11 foot and to be quick growing.

Thanx

Please tell us when you find them. ;-) And where you live, BTW - where you
live makes a big difference to what people here suggest for you.
Your size parameters are a little strange - from half the eventual size
upwards to the total eventual size? Why? What are you screening? And do
they *have* to be conifers or just evergreen? I mean, could you use e.g.
Eucalyptus and keep them short? Or beech which up to 8' will keep its dead
leaves and provide screening as a consequence.
Please don't think that I intend to be rude or dismissive but plants don't
grow to order, though many people search for them. ;-)
Almost all require *some* maintenance to keep them the size and shape wanted
if the owner is that insistent upon it. You could grow Camellias, for
example or if in a mild area, Escallonia. Bit more info from you will
get you more info here.
