To answer your question directly about a cool period. It has been
suggested that you withold water and then place the tree in a darkened
room. On another forum, I have read that some people take the tree out
of the pot and hang it up in a closet for the dormancy period.
Bringing it out of dormancy is quite tricky, and that is why I said I
would Email you the information, since it is several pages long.
