Default concrete block farming & gardening; frost

Archimedes Plutonium writes
One of the benefits I failed to mention this year about using concrete
block of their two holes and setting the plant in the middle of one of
the holes is the protection from frost. I planted about 200 tomatoes and
we were hit with frost 2 nights in the past several weeks. I lost
perhaps 60% or more of the tomatoes. The ones alive were small and had
not yet reached above the hole. Perhaps some of the taller ones are
still alive. Anyway, next year I will plant tomatoes only after the
second week of May and not before. Such a waste of time and energy.

And some of my potatoes now have blackened leaves. I am hoping they are
not killed, just damaged.

Second week of May and never before. And start them inside in March and
not February.

I like the concrete block method so much that I have decided to put all
of the tulips in them.

You really do remind me of the hero of 'flowers from algernon'.

I suppose I should put you back in the killfile, but ...
