Thanks for the advice - we'll put *less* manure in the bottom of the
bed for the carrots/ parsnips then. I'll still need to put some down,
or I'm going to have a very large heap of the stuff sitting around
'til the autumn! (Not that I'm complaining mind - it's just that I'm
running out of space)
