My acer is looking distinctly poorly. It looks as if the leaves are
being
tunnelled, and some are curling up and turning brown. I've put a couple
of

Any ideas what's wrong, and what if anything I can do about it?
Any advice appreciated.
Steve
Hi Steve,
Thats what mine looked like last year, it seems I had it planted in the
wrong place. I had it in my front garden which is East facing ( and also
gets a nasty blast from the north winds when they blow)so it got a blast
of
sun really early in the morning and with the dew on the leaves they
literally burned. It's in a container now in the back garden in a spot
where
the sun doesn't reach it until about midday and it's looking very healthy.
Also, the container is filled with homemade compost, so maybe this is
helping it too, whatever it is, the compost or the aspect it's certainly a
lot healthier looking than I've ever seen it.
Thanks for the replies folks, I'm not totally convinced it's scorch, or only
scorch, some bits are definitely being eaten but I can't find the culprit.
It lives in a sheltered corner between the shed and the fence. A case of
fingers crossed and watch this space I think.
Thanks again.
Steve
