Default tomato weather question

Normally, raised beds will warm up (and cool down) quicker. So you get

Why would they cool down quicker? Seems to me they would get no cooler
than the flat soil surrounding them. Having gotten warmer during the day,
they should maintain a slight temp advantage through the night, too.

Is there a study somewhere you could point me to?
