Excuse me, he didn't only kill Jews. He killed people for myriad reasons, and
did torturous experimentation on countless thousands others.

To understand the motivations behind his actions you need to understand the
political and economic situation in Germany at the time he came to power.
Chronic inflation, Unemployment and shortages of everyday items. The only
people who seemed to be doing well were the jews, so there was resentment.

The man was mentally ill, as was an entire society. Fortunately for them, they
seem to have overcome their illness.

Incidently, the Government in the UK is currently trying the same con, to a
limited degree, using Terrorists as the outside evil, and Assylum seekers as
the internal one. Luckily, your average briton is either more sophisticated
than those berliners or more apathetic.
