I think the big rectangular traps have entrances
too small for well-grown snails. Whatever you use, be certain to leave a
twig or something as a ladder out of the beer otherwise ground beetles
will also drown in it -- and they're your friends, because they eat
slugs.
Here's a question - why do the traps need to be shallow - groundbeetle
level ?
I've tried just jamjars sitting on the surface, and slugs seem to be able
to climb into those ok.
Would I catch more slugs if I sank them into the ground ?
