Help! I visited a friend at his house the other day (first time
there) and noticed a plant in the corner with a few brown leaves
looking a little sickly. I asked him about it and learned he had
received it as a gift several months ago, and really didn't want it.
He admitted neglecting watering it enough, and it had been in very low
light conditions. So I confiscated it, and suddenly, I'm fascinated
with trying to restore its health. After looking at 6 billion plant
and tree pictures on the internet, I finally came across a perfect
match and determined it to be a Dracaena Massangeana. I've read about
a hundred postings about health and maintenance for these plants, but
not much on restoration advice. I'm aware now of proper watering and
lighting, but I'm not so sure about what to do about the brown dead
spots.

So my problems a
1. There are 3 stalks which appear strong and healthy, but about one
in every four leaves is partially or totally brown and whithered. I
realize I need to pull the dead ones, but I'm not sure about triming
brown from the mostly healthy leaves. Is that possible, or what
should I do?
2. Several leaves look healthy in appearance except that the weight
of the leaf or mishandling caused the leaf to bend to a fold. Can I
splint this somehow until it strengthens, or would this be futile?
