Default what to paint pond with?

You can paint and waterproof anything with liquid rubber. See
http://www.pondtechnology.com/pages/cim.html
Normal paint may be toxic to fish depending on what's in it (most are not
good).

One of my buds has extended his fishpond. He took out the old fibre
bottom, extended the pond, concreted the interior, then painted it
with normal waterproof exterior paint. Is this ok or will it kill the
fish, he wonders, a bit late in my opinion? I know there is such stuff
as pond-paint; should he go get some?
