How long does winter last there?
Winter ended for this year in the USA a while back.

In the USA, I have overwintered two out of the past three years.
The key ingredients appear to be lots of sunshine, some fertilizer,
some warmth (from sunshine, and being a heated sun room), no
sunshine on the roots (no clear containers), and keeping insects
off of the plants (I spray them).

When spring arrives, they might not look real great, but they
do have a fair amount of green, and are growing. I put them
out when the night time temperatures are staying above freezing
most of the time, and cover them when the temperatures will
dip to near freezing. If the temps will go more than a degree
or two below freezing, I bring them in again.

One year, I pitched out quite a few of them because they
continued to grow quite a bit through the winter.

However, my water lettuce all died this winter. Oh well. :-(
